The Osprey has Landed!

From the film, The Eagle Has Landed. It sounded a nice title! I went back to the Osprey nest site this morning and there was a fair amount of activity. This Osprey landed on the nest with a fish, quite a big one, The female had gone to perch, while I take it the male started the feeding. Then all of a sudden another Osprey arrived on the scene. The bird on the perch immediately took off to accost the intruder, she was having a bit of difficulty and then the Osprey on the nest rose into the air to help out. The two of them managed to chase the intruder away. But I imagine it will be back. I showed this photo because I had one in flight yesterday and I thought this would show the bird in comparison to the nest. The nest is over three and a half feet wide. My telephoto is on its limit and I had to do a bit of cropping as well. But it needed the tree as well to show the size.
