Goldfinch

We get lots of different birds in our garden but some have not been as evident over the last month as previously.

I now know why! They have returned today with their young families - chaffinches, blue tits and coal tits. Even the sparrows are bringing their new offspring.

It's' been amazing watching them coming and going and mums feeding their babies.

I decided to wait until they are more familiar with the garden and with me being around before I started to make a nuisance of myself, so those shots are for another time.

However, a pair of goldfinches have been feeding all day and they seem pretty comfortable with me taking shots of them. Unfortunately this one doesn't show off his beautiful yellow and black wings as he was facing me but he still looks handsome.

Maybe they too will produce a family soon, along with the two beautiful Great Spotted Woodpeckers that come several times throughout the day.

I think I have become a 'twitcher'!!
