Geranium in transition
With summer plants in this part of the world benefiting from long hours of daylight and higher temperatures there's an explosion of new growth in gardens and patios. One of the most reliable plants for summer colour is the geranium, especially in tubs where it tolerates dryness.
My blip shows a beautiful salmon pink bloom just emerging, with a cluster of small buds waiting in the wings. All the mechanisms for this blossoming are in the plant's DNA. What we need to do is provide the conditions to allow nature to take its course.
