Portsmouth Chateau

This is the entrance to Portsmouth and Southsea Train station. Wikipedia tells me it was built in 1866 although there had been a smaller station on this site 20 years earlier. It’s a Grade II listed building constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with yellow brick and stone dressings it has an attractive porch (well I think it is :) ) and ironwork - evidently designed by MacFarlane of Glasgow. I think it has a French chateau look about it. I love stations - excitement of travelling or the comfort of arriving home. Thanks Steveng for this week’s theme
