Whisky in the Jar
More hard work up that slope. Is there no end to the number of bottles in the dirt? I’ve been filling bags with them mixed along with all the other rubbish, but looking at this haul I guess I ought to wash them and take them to our glass recycling bin. Enjoyable exercise, especially listening to podcasts. In the big world, big wars grind on, in the small world, the covid enquiry has arrived to embarrass the panjandrums here.
From early on I was something of a sceptic - not of the disease itself or the effectiveness of vaccines, but rather of many of the lockdown measures and the incessant and tedious political posturing to create a narrative to differentiate our virtuous leadership from that other crowd. Ms Sturgeon's WhatsApp messages having been sadly (ahem) deleted, there’s detective work in piecing the trail together from the phones of others. Back in November 2020, she discussed a UK government proposal with one of her closest confidants. She begrudgingly admits that ‘on this, I (reluctantly) think there’s merit in UK-wide position’. As Massie observes, Leopards don’t change their spots.
And then later... the final episode of Traitors. Oh my word. How did they engineer that ending? Poor Mollie.
