Rainier
Today was a day of travel: Port Townsend to Indian Creek, a US Forest Service camp on the side of the Cascade Range.
We traveled through Mt Rainier National Park. It was overcast all the way to the park, then we ascended to the visitor's center at 5800' elevation...through the clouds. It was very foggy as we were in the clouds, in the rain. The road was twisty but surrounded by lush green forest. The mountain was not visible.
We spent our time at the visitor's center, then descended through the clouds on the East side of the range. Rounding a hairpin turn, we caught this glimpse of the mountain top. We pulled the 55' rig off the road at a wide spot and I took this picture. It was all that we saw of the mountain during the day.
