St Thomas' Church Roof...
The circular fisheye gets let loose on the entire upper regions of St Thomas' ancient medieval church, in Salisbury.
This church, which pre-dates the cathedral has large windows but very dark oak panelling and so getting an exposure that wasn't too burned out or clogged up was really difficult.
As well as darkening the light window areas, I lightened each and every dark wooden panel separately and individually, which took some time. Without a tripod and HDR this is probably as good as I'm going to get it!
Would suggest a view on LARGE
The dull weather suited this subject but the peak sunshine for this area was forecast for 8 a.m., which was when I went out. Three hours later it is still grey and dull, with that nagging cold breeze still evident. I had admired roses in the council garden displays but the wind would have made subject blur (and framing) an issue. So, maybe they're for another day.
If you like the effect from this Sigma 8mm (on full-frame, the DX equivalent is just 4.5mm) you might like this Blip was my last effort and before that this night-time, with the moon
Have a great week, all happy blippers!
