2 more trigs

Another day of two halves.

I walked down to the village to meet Katy who drove us to do another trig, the one we had to abandon due to lack of time. We parked near the farm and continued up the track then through the chopped down firs. We had lots of obstacles including barbed wire which sneakily was on the other side of a gate which wouldn’t open, so I got pierced when I grabbed the top of the gate to climb over. Eventually we found the trig in another wood.

We got back to the car after further climbing over difficult gates and fences and drove on to the next objective, parking at Howick and heading for the whin sill. It was a pleasant 2 mile return walk. At the top we had great views to the sea with Dunstanburgh Castle to the NE, the rooftops of Craster below and the Howick Bathing Hut to the SE. The wind was cold but apparently in Kinlochewe it was 19.5 degrees - lucky to get that in summer.

When I got home I had to sort a pudding for friends coming tomorrow.

Then I got a message from Marion to say her ex had died. We knew him when they both lived here. Another funeral to attend, this time in a woodland site.
