Air, Land and Steam

We went down to Swindon today to access some aerial photos the RAF took of the area around the Malverns in the 40's - and similarly those taken by the OS in the 60's - held by Historic England / English Heritage.

We were hoping to identify the illusive "10 acres" that peppered the "Dell Hotel" advertising literature of the time.

Despite the detailed mapping photos there really wasn't much evidence to back up the claim.  Yes, there was an adjacent orchard and fields that are now housing estate; but little to be really confident of them being part of Dell House property.

Afterwards we popped in to the GWR "STEAM" museum next door.  It doesn't seem to have changed much in 18 years since we last visited.
