Dummy

Conor has always resolutely refused dummies. In fact, when we've tried before to give him one his theatrical over-reaction would lead you to believe he was being poisoned! I want him to take a dummy for a few reasons, mainly that he is starting to suck his thumb and I would prefer that he sucks a dummy, which I can later take away, and he also refuses to take milk from a bottle. If we can get him used to sucking a dummy then hopefully he will master the technique of sucking a bottle teat and I can be away from him for more than 2 hours if I need to be without worrying that he's starving. We did supplement occasionally when he was very young and the feeding was hard going, but once it wasn't necessary anymore we stopped and now he's a snob about it. It doesn't matter what's in the bottle, formula or EBM, he's having none of it. So when we finally got him to accept a dummy today, it felt like a momentous achievement.

Ed has blipped about what we got up to this weekend.
