Life in a Northern Town

Malham

We had a fabulous day in Malham - we did the 6 miles circular walk via the Cove and Gordale Scar with quite different weather on the way around. The limestone pavement seemed even more treacherous than normal today - maybe it’s just that I’m older than when we were last here and more nervous about broken bones! The sun came out as we walked to the Scar and it was very reminiscent of Iceland - can’t wait for our next trip there later this year. We finished at Janet’s Fosse, where some intrepid folk were swimming - it WAS a very mild day but even so I admired their pluck.

Scones and cake topped off the day - 15,000
Steps and 40 storeys climbed - we’ve earned a relaxing evening.
