AWARDS
Usual fun filled day.
Then Restraint Training…not very useful in my current school as behaviour is generally very good but would have been useful in the special needs unit I headed up!!! However when it was my turn to volunteer I realised being restrained my 2 burly men had a plus side !!!!!
Then onto a special dedication ceremony at the hospital for The Rev and his team. The chaplaincy team had received a very special Mayors Award. It was very moving The Bishop of Southwark read a very moving letter that had been sent to him by a Mum of a young girl who had died from anorexia a few years ago…explaining what comfort The Rev had been in the days before and after her death. Very powerful words. Then the mayor gave a funny moving speech about The Rev…concluding “…there is no I in team but there is an A..and this time it’s Andy…everyone needs an Andy in their team. ” He them got a standing ovation….and yes there were tears.
#Sister S was very embarrassed with her certificate
# Rev D is in charge of staff wellbeing
#The line up…including the chief nurse and the CEO of the trust
#Rev L getting his award as ecumenical chaplain and volunteer organiser
#The Rev before the tears :)))
Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious Indian meal with all 100 visitors to the service including 3 bishops and 2 mayors.
After clearing we got home at 8:30….then at 9:15 the bishop turned up and stayed for a cuppa!!!
A long but very positive day
