Kilpeck Church
“The capacities by which we can gain insights into higher worlds lie dormant within each one of us.”
Rudolf Steiner
Another spontaneous diversion, thanks BobsBlips, to Kilpeck Church while we were heading home after our day out - it wasn't even on our list for the day. This is also the last photo of the day for me, another last minute spark. It’s likely there was a church predating the current one, which means Saxon origins, and the date of the current one is uncertain, but likely to be about 1140. What is certain is that what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in detailing and carving. The culmination of another great day out in the sunshine with BobsBlips exploring the history and architecture on our doorstep, with plenty of conversation too, many thanks Bob. Not only that but a big cooked breakfast in Ross on Wye to kick start the day and keep us going (and I won’t tell).
