Forest Fan’s Funeral
This afternoon we attended the funeral of a Nottingham Forest Fan, whose wife we have become friends with through Park Run. She and Tess always run together whenever she comes to Park Run and her husband, Steve, ran a few times before he was diagnosed with cancer last year. He and I used to joke that we could always hear them before we could see them as they never stopped talking.
We only met a few times but, as the tributes today reinforced, he was always a friendly, jovial person who lived life to the full.
He was also a big Nottingham Forest fan and had requested that people wore some Forest memorabilia to the funeral. I managed to borrow a scarf for me and a shirt for Tess from my Keep Fat guru and Forest fan Jon. The crematorium is just a few hundred yards from Huish Park so, as Yeovil fan, it took some nerve to wear it!
Steve was just 51 and leaves 9 year old twins.
