Ballard Sunday Market

At farmer's markets there are always loads of great things to photograph. But Seattle has rather a particular crowd of sort of hipster, alternative, hippie-types that are so great to see. There were wax mustaches and banjo players galore, like this guy who was accepting donations in a shark-mouthed laundry basket. I got a bunch of cool shots of all sorts of people buying and looking at all sorts of cool things, but I chose this photo because it's so very Seattle. We were all having a good time until a seagull pooped on us. And I'm not talking about your average seagull turd. This was projectile, liquidy grossness that had a diameter of about 8 feet, for who knows why! All three of us plus three other people were victims to this bird's falling feces, so we headed home after that for showers. Not sure we'll venture out again today. It's a dangerous world out there!
