A bit of a gloomy day but we decided on a day out anyway. We headed to Corfe Castle which was great as there were so few visitors. After a walk round the castle and the village we decided to try to go to the Etches fossil collection in Kimmeridge. We had heard that it’s still ultra busy after the new fossil of the pliosaur had been put on display but we were delighted with space in the car park and only a handful of visitors. The pliosaur skull is so impressive! After seeing the Attenborough documentary about retrieving it from the cliff side I found it hard to guess its size, but it is huge! Impossible to get a good photo of it because of the glass case and lighting but I still wanted the pic in my blip story.
