It’s Mine!

I needed some petrol,  so there was no excuse for avoiding the “daily” constitutional.  Shepherd Meadows and a walk along the River Blackwater was my destination of choice, ending up at the balancing pond, used for managing excess rain water.

Birds were congregating around one of the culverts, and on closer observation I was delighted to see a little egret fishing. Every time it darted into the water for a fish one or more gulls headed in to steal catch.  However, the egret could fly faster than the gulls and managed to hang on to his catch!
