Neeps and tatties

The spell check wants to label my blip 'Needs and tattoos'. That would make for an interesting Burns' Night experience! With these neeps and tatties we served the same vegetarian haggis as Munroist4113. I wonder if we should make our own next year?

I sloped off to the study at 1:00am last night after my current 'go to' episode of In our time (from 21st December last year) didn't work its magic as I tried to fall asleep in my own bed. On the sixth or seventh play, I have finally heard the whole programme about Van Gogh. I managed to fall asleep about an hour and a half after bailing from our bedroom, cocooned under a duvet and several blankets on the sofa bed, and with the World Service in my ears.

Thursdays are usually busy in this household. Today was no exception. I confirmed our Thursday shopping list; stripped Mummy hazelh's bed; shopped at LIDL and Tesco; helped with the washing, drying and putting away of five loads of washing; fed the birds; played with my compost heap; looked after Mummy hazelh; and chatted to Graham for an hour on the phone. Graham always rings us around this time of year for an annual update. We had been expecting his call. It was great to hear from him.

I am also pleased to report that I had time this afternoon to return to my journal article. I really, really want to finish it, but is so hard to find blocks of time to concentrate on it at the moment.

Last night's episode of The traitors was not the Shakespearean drama that I had hoped for. I made up for this by dreaming that the production team had planted me amongst the players at the start of episode 1 of this series. They even gave me my own theme tune: The Orinoco kid by the Wombles :-)

Exercise today: small amount of walking (7,620 steps).
