Life in a Northern Town

Burns night supper

We didn’t go down the traditional route.

If you were in Yorkshire on Burns Night 1995 you may have been caught in the infamous “snowbomb”. Snow started falling at about 5pm and by 8pm nearly 50cm had fallen. John and I spent more than 10 hours on the M621 with just a packet of mints and the radio to keep us going. Fortunately Eric Cantona chose to display his karate skills on a Crystal Palace fan that night so there was plenty to listen to!

Where were you?
