Full moon on Owl Crag
We started our outdoor day just outside the house on the sledging slope. Yesterday's blip showed Dave in the falling snow as he made the first runs, but today it was sunny and cold and the colder weather had hardened up the run. It was fast and fun.
After a half-dozen goes at swooshing down and walking back up in the deep snow we were getting puffed so we had a brief break before loading the snowshoes and ourselves into the car and driving to Owl Crag (Uvberget). We snowshoed up to the top and enjoyed the wide views across the frozen lake, the hills and the sea.
The picture is taken right at the top. As we arrived the sun had set into a bank of cloud in the south-east, and the full moon was just rising in the north-west.
The moon looks so big as it climbs over the horizon but it's all an illusion, as the camera proves here where you can see the moon is actually a very small disc.
Three of us are blippers (Come on Dave, get that camera going!) and this was definitely the place to blip from so here is HarlingDarling's blip and Bramble Blossom's blip.
Once down from the hill we did a little shopping and when we came out of the shop it was fully dark. Home to a log fire!
This evening we are planning a full moon walk in the snowy landscape. Will it happen? We shall see...
