Not Waterloo….

Where Little Sis and I met for our journey to Taunton today to visit Valerie. Big Sis was in Bath helping her family. Valerie has to stay in the hospice where they are looking after her, sorting her pain and an infection. Today she didn’t even have the energy to think of going home or keep her eyes open. We sat with her, loved her and left her after a shorter but precious visit and will do it all again if necessary. A long day, long journeys, but every visit is worth all that.

We may be in for a full refund of our fare! Our planned train was first delayed then cancelled. The next should have made up for that but had to stop at extra stations due to the cancellation. More delays on the way, and we finally arrived 55 minutes later than scheduled for that train….

We were grateful we had no time deadlines and really felt for those whose days were disrupted.

Our home journey back to Paddington was great and we’ve both had good onward journeys home. AND it was still ‘light’ at 5pm today!
