Going, going.. almost gone!

So today we lost the last of the three tall conifers remaining between us and our neighbours. Storm Isha had battered it, but Storm Jocelyn finished it off. I noticed the change as I was sitting having my breakfast coffee and checked it out only to see the ground was being disturbed as the wind blew at the tree. If nothing was done it was in danger of falling. Luckily the ‘tree guys’ that we’ve used before came within an hour or so and now it is no more.
I’m a bit sad. Birds flying between the back and front gardens frequented it a lot, especially the blue tits and great tits. Fortunately it happened before nesting time as we have had nests in it in previous years.
