Crossroads

The latest novel I have read, Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen, is a psychogram of the characters in a dysfunctional American family, which could be a reflection of the state of the nation itself.  The writing of Jonathan Franzen is quite stellar, energetic and really funny in places. The morality and identity politics in this the first book of a planned trilogy, however, I found less compelling.
