Grey Heron

On the River Kelvin. On my visit to Glasgow, I saw grey heron, goosanders, kingfisher, dippers and an otter along a short stretch of the Kelvin. Not bad for a city waterway.
This heron was standing on a weir and on the opposite bank. I thought I'd photo it even though a bit far off and it immediately flew and landed just a couple of metres away. It ignored me as I photographed it and passers-by took pictures on their phone. I think it stood waiting for the weir to push fish against its legs so as to snatch them up.
