Fish
It was a grey, windy day but not as cold as it had been. Nothing much planned (it's January!) so we had a drive to the coast for a walk and to get some fish. The shop and cafe looked closed so we thought it might be a wasted journey but were fortunately wrong. The fish is amazing and much better to buy from a fishmonger than a small piece in a plastic tray from the supermarket. We did a walk and it was fine one way, but blustery the other. A quick coffee and piece of cake (OH coveting the bacon rolls?!) and then home to get dinner on. I made cauliflower cheese and wondered what soup would taste like made from all the leaves and stalks so gave it a try (combined with carrots, onions and a potato) and it tasted fine. I also made some cakes but realised I had no chopped cherries so they will be a 4/10 sort of effort.
A win at scrabble and a mediocre film finished the day.
Chat with No.1 who had enjoyed a walk with future MIL and SIL while JC was at the football. Looking forward to seeing her tomorrow.
