Night market
We have a chilled start to the day at Isara - including a solid breakfast at Sonya House. The it's onto a minibus for the journey to Krabi. First, of course, it has to run around a few remote accommodations filling up the seats with people and the floor with bags.
We drop half the passengers at Krabi airport and half the rest at the bus station. We're dropped at our hotel in the centre of town, but it soon becomes clear that this is not the hotel we were intending to book - it has no pool :(
We visit a few local cafes/bars before heading to the night market for the evening's entertainment. There are cocktails served in bamboo canes, curries, kebabs, sea food, pancakes, waffles, bbqd meat of every description and much much more.
The highlight food for me is a delicate fried disc of fern and shrimp (extra) for the princely sum of THB 15 (35p in UK money). There's also the bicycle based table (complete with genuine tuk tuk hooter) and an excruciating collection of local karaoke performed from a large stage at the centre of the market.
We evacuate to a nearby cafe to play Switch/Black 5 before returning to our hotel balcony for a final beer.
