Batting

I’ve made some progress with the Charley Harper quilt, and decided it was time to get the batting, or wadding, that goes in the middle of the quilt to make it padded and warm. I chose wool batting for this. I’ve always used cotton before but wool is obviously warmer, and is supposed to drape nicely and be nice and plump in between the lines of quilting. I’m somewhat daunted by the thought of getting such a large quilt under my little sewing machine! It even crossed my mind to get it professionally quilted, but it’s going to need outlining of all the little animals to make it just right. So I’m going to do it…. maybe starting next week as we have visitors this week!
