Blowing a hoolie here and due to get worse about now - but at least it's warm(ish). We've filled up bottles with water and will locate the candles - lots of people have already lost their electricity. Not a day to go out so I've changed the bed, made soup, made date squares, done a bit of well work and ploughed through my book Death in Irish Prehistory - fascinating if complicated.

We've just finished Boy Swallows Universe  - an unexpected delight. An Australian series very loosely based on a true story about growing up in a seriously dysfunctional family set in the 1980s. Expect lots of short shorts, mullets and swearing but the central character, a boy of 13,  is a beacon of light, goodness and hope - and it's all about redemption. We much enjoyed it.
