Now I see through a Glass Darkly….
I’m not sure if the weather today is a precursor of storm Isha or just an extra for effect but after a pleasant enough start the rain rolled in, the kind of rain that you know instinctively is on for good, making it an afternoon for inward reflection and outward observation. The dog walkers are huddled on the Meadows while their pooches run around like mad things. I haven’t noticed any equally mad footballers but that’s not say that there are not some beyond my field of vision.
It’s amazing that despite all the windows there are in the flat I did not hear the wind during last night, so I was surprised to see the cast iron patio table blown onto its side and the plastic covering the patio chairs almost blown off even though it was tied tightly round the legs! That has never happened before. I wonder what will happen if the wind gets worse as it’s meant to do tonight.
Being indoors has meant an afternoon for the minor chores of emptying the bins and draining the washing machine, for putting away the washing and emptying the flower vase of the Christmas flowers but also for downing a large glass of Bailey’s and consuming some lentil crisps. It’s not all doom and gloom!
