You're So Vane....
...you probably think this blip is about you. (Sometimes you just have to paraphrase a Carly Simon lyric for your own purposes!).
Today was another early morning run followed by breakfast, the Sunday food shop and our traditional pint at the The Horseshoes. We normally go straight back home but on this occasion we decided to make a detour to the nearby village of Yalding.
It has been the source of blips in the past but we hadn't been there for several months so it felt it was time for another visit. It's very much a quintessential English village and we really enjoyed our walk along its Georgian building lined High Street, past the gloriously atmospheric church and across Town Bridge (one of the village's three bridges) where the Rivers Teise and Beult join the River Medway. The bridge itself is the longest medieval bridge still standing in Kent.
Today's image was taken outside, or should that be above, an antiques and reclamation shop after we'd crossed the bridge. I was immediately drawn to this vulpine inspired weather vane, with what felt like its own superior demeanour, as it appeared to span the nearby rooftops against that rather foreboding sky.
