The end of the line

A few decades ago the row of older, reddish buildings in the foreground didn’t end here, there were several more stairs here.

The rest of the row got the chop to allow for the building of Cables Wynd House - better known as the Banana Flats. The Banana flats feature in the novel Trainspotting (and are a location in the T2 film). An imposing Leith landmark, the brutalist block is now a listed building.

I just liked the way it all lined up - and the fact that I didn’t have far too go to get today’s Blip, just a walk to the end of the street.
