Lots of things done today. Early morning play in the field, luckily no frost to make driving there hazardous! Oscar and Ivy played like they haven't done for ages! Chasing, wrestling standing on their back legs, Ivy biting Oscars front leg to immobilise him, Oscar growling in excitement and biting her neck and at one point doing the typical Berger flypast and biting Ivy's bum as he passed! Such fun to watch! But it meant I didn't do much walking with these two haring around!
After this it was a stop to drop a stool sample at the Dr's and post two parcels. I decided to once more try to find out what is happening to my digestive system. I do wonder if along with my groaning pains in my digestive system whether I also have an ulcer, as I can feel some foods hurting as they enter my stomach. When I spoke to the Dr she said it was a possibility and had I ever had H Pylori - yes! So more blood and stool tests and an appointment next week. She did think a referral to a gastroenterologist would be in order, and it would be a camera down my throat to see if I had an ulcer. Well the chance of that happening is zero! I have swallowing issues as it is and no way can I see myself having this done! I would definitely go into a panic attack and run! I told her I'd have to be knocked out - she said I would have sedation but would be conscious so as to swallow the tube - Ahh NO! If it comes to this I will say lets try the antibiotics for an ulcer and see what happens!
Anyway on my way back to the carpark I spotted someone in the phone box and discovered it is a book and video exchange! So I grabbed a few books! I love the different ways old boxes are being used!
Once home it was time to break my fast! My chair yoga app has a fasting tracker. The Exile does fasting and suggested ages ago I should try it. As I sometimes wondered if lack of food made my stomach worse I never felt like risking it. However my stomach can go through days of pain so what did I have to lose?! I recently found another fasting app that analyses the food you eat as well as telling you when to fast and when to break the fast. You choose what duration of fasting you want. It even gives you healthy meal recipes if you ask it! I do find it interesting to see that whilst I cook from scratch my diet was lacking in certain things - most notably fibre! So when this happens I eat some nuts or sprinkle seeds on my food! I also used to snack in the eves on sweets and biscuits. For the moment I'm not doing this - I'm hyper aware of everything I eat!
I did do a bit of reading on fasting and whilst many sources ( like apps) say it helps to lose weight, research does not support this. But it has other health benefits for the heart and blood sugar and most importantly the gut biome and inflammatory digestive system. Fingers crossed!
I'm hoping the apps keep me motivated - I do tend to have "crazies" for things and then after a period of time I miss a day, then another and another......! You will have realised this from my now infrequent habit of blipping! However blip has been the longest I have kept to a craze and although intermittent I am still doing it! I think my poor health is also partially responsible for my periods of long absence. The longest time I have been without stomach pain is when I broke my leg and was unable to weight bare. Lying flat is the only thing that eases / stops the pain. Something not right there as I have repeatedly told many Drs over the years to no avail! They just say IBS and I'm pretty certain it's not! Hopefully this time I might get a different diagnosis - but without having a tube stuck down or up any orifice!!!
