Eastern Towhee

It's been a while since I've seen this guy! Probably since last winter, actually. Although I do see them - singing lustily about drinking your tea - when I go to the birding festival in West Virginia in May, so there's that. But my own personal towhees aren't much in evidence in the yard here unless there's snow on the ground. 

To me he'll always be a "rufous-sided towhee" because that's what they were called when I first identified one many years ago - by just looking through my old Peterson's Guide until I found it.
