Frozen!

A very enjoyable night last night at book club - a wood burner keeping us toasty and the discussion varied and interesting. Good wine and almonds dipped in chocolate too. It seemed to be national shite spreading evening though for the smells were ripe, It was -2C when I came home but the sky was so clear and magical.

Another cold day today with a thick frost and everywhere frozen,  Himself went hunter gathering and I took myself off for a walk along the old green road towards Kilcrohane turning left by the holly tree and taking a circular route down through steep and muddy field to the strand.and back home along the main road.  There was no wind and the sea was glassy in its calmness. I think it's about three miles across to the Mizen but it was so clear today.  I saw no one apart from a fishing boat out at sea and a tractor went by at some point, just birds and sheep. The Moon was out too.
