From Mt Herbert

With so much snow in the mountains and high avalanche risk, a couple of friends and I headed up Mt Herbert on Banks Peninsula today.

I must say the summit looks so much better without the gorse. It was somewhere beneath us, as many of the marker posts.

Hugely enjoyable but I'm a tad tired after plugging so many steps today.

The view was something else. So much snow inland and the mountains looked majestic.
