Hyacinths and Amaryllis

I am enjoying this cold calm weather, after all the storms we had at the start of the year.  Everything is still.  And you can lean into all those winter pleasures, firelight, huge jumpers, candles and soups….. and be grateful that we have a warm house and can afford central heating.

Woody and I walked up into the woods - we were going to go over the fields as the ground was nicely frozen but they were muck spreading so had to head somewhere cleaner.   I took this picture of the bulbs in the sitting room window as someone who came to do something in the garden was admiring them from outside.  Another of the pleasures of winter.

A day in the home office which warms up nicely and I lit candles in there and read accompanied by my Flow State music (brilliant newsletter with recommendations for interesting ambient music to play in the background to help you focus - which I need).

I took this picture because someone who was doing something in the garden was admiring the bulbs through the window.

Watched TWO episodes of Fargo this evening after I made a delicious Diana Henry chicken dish for dinner.

Ah well the stormy rains will return soon enough.
