Midsummer at Slottsskogsparken
We slept in late (through the alarm and breakfast) so got ready and headed out on the tram to grab brunch . Unfortunately, we didn't realise that Midsummer Eve is the second biggest holiday after Christmas Day so 99% of places were shut. I say unfortunately, but it meant that we stumbled across a proper local cafe that served delicious coke floats & Brie & salami paninis......after eating we bought some Swedish strawberries from the grocers and headed to the massive city park where families and friends were enjoying games, bbq's, music and games. We visited the petting zoo and watched the folk band with dancing round the maypole and then headed to Liseberg amusement park (the biggest in the Nordic countries) to enjoy rollercoaster a, freefall drops and a traditional Swedish dinner of meatballs & lingonberries.....we were back at ship for 11pm to see our last late sunset in the beautifully quiet harbour and get a good nights sleep ready to travel home tomorrow!
