Yesterday late evening the garden was covered with snow so I was very wary as I walked to the bus this morning.  Only a mile down the road there was no snow yet this evening there is still snow on our grass.  Looking back at my photos I see that there has been lying snow here in six out of the last ten years during the third week of January although there was none in that period in 2021 until the 22nd when there was a large amount lasting until the 29th.  Perhaps tomorrow these snowdrops emerging in the shelter of the hedge will be covered by snow if the forecast is correct but it does not seem that we will get much.
