Out in the garden...

for most of the day, tidying up and pottering about. Now the work on the house has finished it's time to reclaim the garden which has been sadly neglected these last few months. Found these lovely alliums almost by accident this afternoon, in a flower bed that had become overgrown and full of plants that had self-seeded or had come in via the birds. I love the contrast between them, the berberis and the aquilegia. The effect is pure chance not deliberate gardening. I suppose I could have claimed it was of my own making. Would that it were!
