A gentle morning, ahead of a 1040 departure to Angus.
A 9 for the boys, a bike ride for me and by 1115 we're on the concourse, champing at the bit to board the Aberdeen train. For verily, tis Montrose (a). The 9th ground of the league 1 23/24 circuit. Only Dreich / Dumfries to go. Mar 2. Its in the dairy. Diary. Whatever 

A pleasant 90 minutes of chit chat later and we're into the heart of darkness  Angus. A bit of a gentle potter about (we had an hour and a half to kill before the game) and team news was encouraging... our injury crisis seems to be ending -phew! 

The Braco Branch was duly represented by Swanny and Bovril was procured.

First half - a decent chance each. Pabs hit the bar with an overhead volley from a corner; Mo had three clear hits in about 7 seconds, one blocked, one saved, one ended up in someone's washing. (Pillow case, perhaps?)

The second half saw a flurry of inactivity by the Mo defence; and Dale H ( not Dale C) somehow managed to sclaff the ball wide from 2.7 yards out before debutant Callum Crane strode forward and capped a fine display with a well taken goal. 

Yaaaaas.

But just as we're leafing through the records for scoring debutant for the Binos we then hit Refine Search and added 'scoring/ sent off on debut'  to Google ( we failed to find a precedent)

Still, we hung on (in truth, we closed the game out with no major drama) and left Links Park beaming.  

Swanny offered us a hurl to Dundee (via Fife...oops!) and we hit the Tail-end chippy before jumping our train home,with a discrete beer too.

An away win to start 2024? Don't mind if I do.
