Sullivan's Pond
Sullivan's Pond becomes the go to place in the winter for a variety of ducks. One area remains ice free all winter, but with the mild temperatures and recent rain storms, more than half the pond is ice free. Today, with the black ducks and mallards there were ring necked ducks, greater scaup and American wigeons. I caught this female wigeon in mid-quack.
An interesting brunch today, there was another social group there at the same time we were. I guess the spies are no longer a part of his group. One other time he had booked the same restaurant we were at, then he changed it. They had booked for 11 am, and we book for 11:30 but most of my members show up around 11:15. For some reason, they gave our table to the other group when they started coming in. When we started arriving, the staff had to quickly set up a couple of tables beside 2 booths. I had started going out for supper with the other group before covid, and at that time he was getting 30 - 40 people out. Now he gets an average of 8 - 10 people. The organizer knows me, he used to be my computer guy. He looked over at me a couple of times, but never said anything. One of the women at his table used to come out with us, she did say hello. One of the other women, well there is some history between us, she never even acknowledged me, she kept her back to me. Our group laughed and carried on as we usually do.
Back to work tomorrow and it is going to be a full week. The nail color relines start tomorrow and I have another one booked for Wednesday. Then 3 other smaller jobs booked for Tuesday and Thursday. So far the snow/rain events are overnight so I shouldn't have to reschedule anything.
