Day 014/24. Nearly but not quite......

Winchester does not have flood defences in the way of walls. But it does have controlled sluices that set the water level as the River Itchen flows through the city. Right now they have the adjustment set to allow as much water through as possible. Today, it's as high as I have seen it and flowing really fast. The Winchester rapids.
Another 5 cm and the path would be underwater. The water that is not allowed through the sluices floods the plains to the north of the city.
