Quite a dull Saturday
But at least it wasn’t raining, though it was awful cold. I spent some time feeding and watching the birds in the garden. The ground feeders are on cold-weather rations ie several scoops of food put out several times a day. There’s always a few ground birds out there - blackbirds, magpies, crows, wood-pigeons. Robin is clever because he/she feeds on the ground and at the feeders - the only one who does that:) It was nice to see a GS woodpecker feeding itself on the trunk of a tree just beyond my garden wall. It seems awfully shy about coming to the feeders, though I’ve seen it there a few times.
Then I did my big Tesco shop - which I do about every 10 days or so. Then I spent the afternoon doing batch cooking and listening to the football - which was a bit disheartening, as Bristol City lost away at Preston, who are a bit of a bogey team. I made nut roast (9 portions), peppers stuffed with artichoke, feta, pine nuts, and breadcrumbs (8) and 8 portions of spinach pasta sauce. So I was quite pleased with myself - I’m often too tired in the evening to start cooking from scratch. And I spent most of the evening on Blip - catching up with commenting on other people’s journals. Didn’t quite do all of them. It takes quite a lot of time doesn’t it? If you want to look properly and read people’s narratives. Nice though:-)
