Lisa and Lisa at Buc-ee's
We have a new guilty pleasure stop on our way to Florida. The Texas based Buc-ee's have invaded I-75. On our way, we have 2 in Georgia and 1 in Kentucky.
The place is hard to describe. The one in Warner-Robbins is set on 22 acres, and the building itself is 53,000 square feet. Outside, there are 120 gas pumps, and inside it seems like that there are also that many rest room stalls. In addition, Buc-ee the beaver is their mascot, and...believe me...he is EVERYWHERE!
Quite the experience. Beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, a jerky bar, homemade fudge, a bakery, and beaver nuggets (caramel puffs.) It wasn't our first time, but it was the 1st time for sister Lisa.
We hit the road VERY early (5:51 a.m.) to attempt to beat the Atlanta morning rush hour, and it worked. Smooth sailing through the BIG city.
We pulled into Bradenton, Florida at 5:55, and 2 of our neighbors had supper for us shortly thereafter. How nice was that?
1,370 miles driven in 2 days. Again...dog tired.
