Regeneration

It was such a lovely day (7oC; sunshine with a touch of warmth in it; no wind) that I decided to spend a lot of time in the garden. My intention was to get today’s photo from some of the snowdrops that are now out. Or even a few rose buds trying to bloom.

As it was, after a FaceTime catch up with a friend; various church emails; and house things, it was nearer lunchtime before I got outside. I got lots of weeding and shifting old compost done. And planted a Christmas present.

As it was, this photo of the orchid indoors has made it to the daily spot. In itself this is a regenerated bowl of orchids which I have somehow nurtured over a couple of years to bloom again and which looked particularly striking in the sunlight.

We’ve now caught up with Mr Bates v The Post Office. I can see how it stirred people to anger. What is more troublesome is that it took an excellent drama to shift the dial - or at least give the appearance of shifting the dial. It is not so much a question of where has trust gone but why has the ethos of public service and fairness been so degraded?
