Walking in Glen Quiach
We took a circular walk in Glen Quaich, starting in Amulree, walking along the north side of Loch Freuchie and then back along the south side.
There were a few heavy showers, and we got stuck when we tried to extend the walk by following a path north-west of the loch. We've walked there before but this time couldn't find any sign of the path marked on the map. The ground was very rough and boggy and Mrs P couldn't rely on her walking pole because her arms are still sore from her accident on Monday. So, after crossing a couple of fences and ditches with more in sight, we gave up. The walk back along the road (blipped) was much easier.
I fear the glen will lose some of its charm for walkers because the controversial Beauly Denny power line is being built through it. What makes it worse is that local residents mounted a spirited defence against wind farms a few years ago, and now they get the power line!
