Delaney Brown Snr ...

... spoke at the Rally for Peace in Luton this afternoon. His grandson was one of the victims of inter-estate gang deaths in September last year - he was run down by an ex school friend who was a member of a Marsh Farm gang and Delaney Brown Jnr was in a gang from Lewsey Farm.

Lots of inter-faith and non-faith community leaders spoke with a strong feeling that there is more to Luton than the headlines show - all community leaders agreed things had improved recently - there haven't been many gang related incidents in the last few weeks. Superintendent David Boyle - having been invited to speak without prior warning - made it clear that things have improved over the last few weeks but no-one was taking their eye off the ball as things can escalate quickly and without warning.

It was a good positive afternoon !
