I was on my own in the dusk and she flew in - lucky me!

Always a pleasure always a thrill and always a privilege to see these magnificent birds here on our doorstep after they have travelled so very far to be here for the winter. 

I did go to Cheltenham this morning to see the alleged waxwings but to no avail and knew then I was in for the bleak Cotswold hill scenario so went home first to fuel up (we still have some Christmas cake left but you didn't hear that from me. I'm blaming the mouse.)
