Steel Canoe

For some different scenery this morning we just went to south Lake Union where this new native design sculpture has just appeared right next to the Wooden Boat Center. (wooden building on left)   there’s no information so we asked in the wooden boat center and they hadn’t even seen it !  Said oh they'd walk over and look.    :-)   Then we went to MOHAI, the big building on the left and they didn’t have a clue what we were asking about either.   Nor can I find anything online.   Just have to wait.   It’s lovely tho.  And it won’t rot. 

Besides a walk we wanted to see the Boys in the Boat exhibit at MOHAI…small but pretty interesting, with old videos of old crews.   We’ll see the new film eventually.   Extra,  not the original 1936 boat that went to the Olympics, but one the same, only slightly newer,  (you can read about it in the link if interested) …inside this very fine building that once was an armory during WWll.
