Gift from an Elder

The campus where I worked for years was on Cowichan territory and there was an elder named Louise who was there to support Cowichan students, other Indigenous students who came from all over the province and other parts of Canada, and any other students who needed support. She was a wonderful support person for staff too. I loved her. She gave me this little carving, about 8 1/2 inches long, for Christmas one year, and it hangs on a wall as a special reminder of the many interactions I had with her. 
There was no information about the person who carved it, unfortunately.
